Terms of sale
Last updated: 20 October 2026 (draft)
The short version
- You pay £59 once. That’s the total, with free UK delivery and any VAT included.
- We currently deliver to UK addresses only.
- It’s a pre-order. We dispatch it within 6 weeks of your order, or refund you in full without you asking.
- You can cancel any time before it ships, and for 14 days after the day it arrives.
- On top of that, the 30-Night Shelf Test: send it back within 30 nights of delivery for a full refund.
- Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer.
Who am I buying from?
You’re buying from Studio Next Ltd, the small UK company that makes the Nova Baby iPhone app. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Studio Next Ltd, and “you” means the person placing the order.
- Company number: 12945543
- VAT number: GB424859177
- Registered in: England and Wales
- Address: 8 Elstree Gardens, Belvedere DA17 5DN, United Kingdom
- Email: hello@getnovababy.com
These terms are for people buying as consumers, for their own home. Please read them before you order. They’re short on purpose.
What exactly am I buying?
One Nova Room from the Founders Batch, our first run of 50 units. Nova Room is a small USB-powered device for the nursery shelf. It has two keys:
- Moon: press it when your baby falls asleep.
- Sun: press it when your baby wakes up.
It logs the sleep you record with those keys in the free Nova Baby app. It also reports the room’s temperature, humidity and light to the app.
In the box: the Nova Room device, a USB-C cable and a UK plug. We assemble and test each one ourselves before it ships. It’s one unit per order.
What do I need to use it?
- An iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Nova Room doesn’t work with Android.
- The free Nova Baby app.
- A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Nova Room uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only.
- Somewhere to plug it in. It has no battery.
You don’t need a subscription. Please check you have everything on this list before you order. If it turns out Nova Room doesn’t suit your home, the 30-Night Shelf Test has you covered.
What is Nova Room not?
Please read this part carefully.
- It is not a medical device.
- It is not a baby monitor. It has no camera and no microphone. It does not watch, listen to or measure your baby.
- It is not a breathing or health monitor.
- It is not a safety alarm.
Nova Room logs the sleep you tell it about and reports the room. Don’t rely on it to keep your baby safe. Keep following safe sleep advice and checking on your baby as you do now.
Safety: Nova Room is a small electronic device, not a toy. Keep it and its cable out of children’s reach. Put it somewhere you can reach but your baby can’t, away from the cot, radiators and direct sun.
How much does it cost?
£59. That’s the total. Prices include any VAT payable, and UK delivery is free. There are no extra charges from us and no subscription.
How do I pay?
You pay the full price when you order, through Stripe Checkout. You can pay by card, and by Apple Pay or Google Pay where they’re offered. Stripe handles your payment details. We never see your card number.
When is my order confirmed?
Nova Room is sold as a pre-order. Our contract with you starts when your payment goes through at checkout. Stripe then emails your receipt. Keep it: it shows what you bought, when, and what you paid.
If your payment doesn’t go through, there’s no order and no contract.
When will it arrive?
We dispatch your Nova Room within 6 weeks of the day you order. When it ships, we email you the tracking details. Our delivery page explains the rest.
Our ship promise: if we haven’t dispatched it within 6 weeks, we cancel your order and refund you in full, automatically. You don’t have to ask.
Can I cancel?
Yes.
- Before it ships: cancel any time, for a full refund.
- After it arrives: the law gives you 14 days, starting the day after delivery, to cancel for any reason.
- The 30-Night Shelf Test: our own guarantee gives you 30 nights from delivery to send it back with a free return label, for a full refund.
How to do each one, and how refunds work, is on our returns page.
What if it’s faulty?
We have a legal duty to supply goods that match this contract. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Nova Room must be of satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose and as described. If it isn’t, you’re entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund, depending on when you tell us. Our returns page sets out your options in plain English. For more about your rights, see Citizens Advice.
When does it become mine?
Nova Room is our responsibility until it’s delivered to you, or to someone you’ve asked to take it in. It becomes yours when it’s delivered. You’ve already paid in full by then.
What about software, updates and security?
Nova Room runs software we wrote. We provide security updates for it until at least [end date of security updates].
Found a security problem? Email hello@getnovababy.com. We confirm we’ve got your report within [number] days and send you an update at least every [number] days until it’s resolved.
Nova Room works with the free Nova Baby app, which is a separate service. How the app handles your Nova Room’s presses and readings is explained in the Nova Baby app privacy notice.
What are you responsible for?
If we break these terms or are careless, we’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it’s obvious it will happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you ordered.
We don’t exclude or limit our responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, and your legal rights about the goods themselves (quality, fitness for purpose and matching their description).
Nova Room is for domestic and private use. We’re not responsible for business losses.
What if I have a complaint?
Email hello@getnovababy.com. A person reads every email, and we aim to reply within [number] working days.
If we can’t sort it out together, Citizens Advice can help with your next steps. [Alternative dispute resolution: name the ADR provider we use, or say we don’t use one]
Which law applies?
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and you keep the protection of your local consumer law.
The small print
- The terms that apply to your order are the ones on this page when you placed it. We may update this page for future orders.

- These terms, and our contract with you, are in English.
